With nearly three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Bates has established a distinguished career in consulting services. He currently serves as principal at Patriot Growth Capital, a role he has held since 2023, and as keynote speaker at Patriot Growth Capital since 2017. Patriot Growth Capital focuses on supporting veterans’ families by helping individuals become the best version of themselves while teaching them to own and operate businesses. Additionally, the team acquires businesses through an extensive network of brokers as opportunities arise. His experience also includes serving as founder of Executive Operation Designs from 2011 to 2022 and as a naval explosive ordnance disposal officer in the United States Navy from 1996 to 2022. He laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in liberal arts from American Military University.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Bates transitioned from a 26-year naval career as an explosive ordnance disposal technician to focusing on empowering today’s youth and leaders through consulting. With over 16 years of experience in business coaching, private equity, and mergers and acquisitions, he has fostered organizational cultures rooted in the philosophy, “We think about you, so you can think about others.” His journey has been shaped by a methodical approach to education and training, enabling him to teach individuals to perform complex tasks, such as disarming explosive devices, with reliability and precision in high-stakes environments. Leveraging these skills, he has helped organizations implement strategies and systems that deliver consistent, repeatable results.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bates has supported approximately 685 businesses, identifying financial resource accessibility as a common obstacle. This led him to teach entrepreneurs how to structure their businesses to appeal to financial institutions, secure funding, and achieve sustainable growth without impacting personal credit. He attributes his success to the people he surrounds himself with and expresses gratitude for the chance to learn from individuals with greater knowledge and expertise. Looking ahead, he has ambitions to make 50 acquisitions annually and contribute one billion dollars in revenue to support American veteran families.
