Jamie J. McCoy, PhD, senior executive for Navy and United States Marine Corps (USMC) accounts at Frequentis, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in internet technology (IT) services and business development.
Dr. McCoy has established himself over more than 30 years as a professional with the ability to navigate the overlap between the military and business worlds. He joined the United States Navy in 1991, serving as an aviation electronic technician aboard the USS Enterprise. In 1996, he returned to school, where he was trained in air traffic control. As Dr. McCoy’s military career progressed, he was promoted to such positions as watch supervisor, air traffic control watch officer, manager, training chief and director of air traffic control. He held the role of executive director of air traffic control for the Navy’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration and Safety Office at Naval Air Station Oceana when he retired from military duty in 2017. Following that, Dr. McCoy worked directly for and in organizations working with the Federal Aviation Administration. Beginning in 2024, he has contributed as the senior executive for Navy and USMC accounts for Frequentis, overseeing the creation of marketing materials and collaborating with U.S. Department of Defense clients.
While serving in the military, Dr. McCoy pursued a solid academic foundation for his future, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in workforce education and training from Southern Illinois University in 2009. He stayed at that institution to work toward a Master of Education in workforce education and development, which he obtained in 2012. In 2016, Dr. McCoy earned a PhD in theology and theological studies from Northern Illinois University. He has further bolstered his credentials with a wide range of certifications. Dr. McCoy has completed official training as an air traffic control tower operator, a governmental safety technician, a master training specialist and a national security strategic leader, among other programs. He is certified in executive civil and international strategic law from the Naval Justice School; hazardous materials information systems technology from the Naval Safety and Environmental Training Center; air traffic control safety inspection from the Federal Aviation Administration; and more.
Beyond his career, Dr. McCoy is a loving husband, father to two and grandfather to two. When not working, he enjoys bowling, golfing and watching musicals. Dr. McCoy is committed to aiding the growth of Frequentis in the coming years. He aims to help the company become a $300 million enterprise. Concurrently with that, Dr. McCoy continues working toward the completion of his second PhD program. Once that is done, he hopes to explore opportunities in clinical psychology.
