Ossie Lee Peacock Jr., EdD, Consultant at GLG, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Cybersecurity and Systems Engineering.
Dr. Peacock has established a distinguished career as a consultant, currently serving in a full-time, hybrid capacity with GLG since 2018. In this role, he leverages more than two decades of professional expertise, providing program and project management consulting services. Dr. Peacock’s work is informed by extensive experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering and organizational leadership.
Since October 2023, Dr. Peacock has also contributed his expertise to HII, where he continues to apply his knowledge in the defense and technology sectors. Before this, he served as a life science associate from 2022 to 2023, broadening his interdisciplinary skill set.
Between 2019 and 2022, Dr. Peacock supported COLSA Corporation, where he played a pivotal role in U.S. Department of Defense projects. His responsibilities included overseeing complex initiatives and ensuring the successful delivery of mission-critical solutions. Additionally, Dr. Peacock was a program manager at JSIL/SAIC from 2017 to 2018, where he managed advanced systems integration projects and utilized his background in systems engineering and cybersecurity to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Dr. Peacock’s professional journey is deeply rooted in his military service. He retired as a lieutenant colonel after serving for over 30 years in the U.S. Army, culminating his career in 2017. His final military assignment was as project concept planning lead for the Program Executive Office Enterprise Information System (PEO EIS). In this capacity, Dr. Peacock led strategic planning efforts for enterprise-level information systems.
Among other assignments while serving in the U.S. Army, Dr. Peacock was the assistant project manager for defensive cyberspace operations at PEO EIS, where he managed critical cyber defense initiatives. He previously served as a product manager for PEO EIS, an assistant project manager for international Apache foreign military sales, and an assistant product manager for the Apache E Model at PEO Aviation from 2009 to 2011.
Throughout his military career, Dr. Peacock achieved several notable milestones. During peacekeeping operations in Bosnia, he gained invaluable experience that shaped his approach to humanitarian assistance and nation stabilization. Dr. Peacock’s involvement with Task Force Ozone in Iraq was advantageous. Under his leadership, the team successfully reclaimed a vital road essential for local transportation and commerce, a mission that also allowed him to apply advanced systems engineering principles.
Dr. Peacock began his academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautics, aviation, aerospace science and technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He then received a Master of Science in business, management, marketing and related support services from Faulkner University, a master’s degree in military operational arts and science from the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, a Master of Science in systems engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, a master’s degree in cybersecurity at Brown University, and a Doctor of Education in leadership and learning in organizations from Vanderbilt Peabody College. In addition to his formal education, Dr. Peacock pursued numerous certifications, including in cyber risk management from Harvard Kennedy School and in cybersecurity from CompTIA Security+.
Active in his professional community, Dr. Peacock is a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering and InfraGard National Members Alliance Inc. He is also a member of 100 Black Men of America Inc.
Dr. Peacock’s decision to pursue a career path within defense acquisition was influenced by its selectivity and prestige. Being chosen allowed him to manage major U.S. Army programs, such as the Apache attack helicopters, while preparing him for post-military opportunities through advanced education requirements.
In light of his achievements, Dr. Peacock has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Bronze Star for service in Iraq, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Legion of Merit from the U.S. Army. He attributes his success to motivation rooted deeply in faith and commitment to biblical principles.
Looking ahead, Dr. Peacock plans to establish his own company focused on consulting services for leadership and learning organizations, sharing lessons learned from decades of military leadership experience. He is committed to raising awareness about the challenges women face in the workforce and advocates for greater diversity, drawing on his successful experiences leading balanced teams. Additionally, Dr. Peacock is developing a tracking tool prototype with plans for patent submission.
