Mr. Hicks has led a diverse career that includes his role as the general manager and franchisee owner of Pool Scouts of Huntsville, a residential pool cleaning service, since 2021, and as an adjunct professor at John C. Calhoun State Community College in Huntsville, since 2019. Additionally, he has been serving as a senior logistics analyst for the U.S. Army Material Command in 2024, reflecting his dedication to his country as a retired military personnel of over 25 years who served overseas in Iraq four times during his tenure between 1993 and 2019.
Highly educated, Mr. Hicks holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and pre-pharmacy with a minor in military science and a Master of Science in biology and secondary education from Alcorn State University. He is presently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational leadership at Capella University and is working toward becoming a deacon at his church. Beyond his formal education, Mr. Hicks holds credentials in project management and in logistics, materials and supply chain management. He is also a Lean Six Sigma black belt through the U.S. Army.
Heavily engaged in professional organizations to remain abreast in his field, Mr. Hicks is active in the National Defense Industrial Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Project Management Institute and is a life member of the Disabled American Veteran Association and the Military Officers Association of America. Among other affiliations, he is involved in community organizations, such as Rotary International, Toastmasters International, and Bartley Bridge Inc. as board chair. Highlighting his career and civic success, he received the TVC Management Award from the National Defense Industrial Association in 2017, was recognized among the Emerging Leaders by the International Franchise Association in 2023, was named the Rookie of the Year by Pool Scouts, and was named Distinguished Toastmaster by Toastmasters International in 2020. Eager for the future, Mr. Hicks intends to continue growing Pool Scouts of Huntsville and speaking publicly to inspire others through his words.
