Ryan Louis Garay, senior director of business development at Maxar Technologies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology and military defense.
Mr. Garay has been a senior director of business development at Maxar Technologies since 2024, a company based in Colorado that provides secure, precise geospatial insights. Passionate about the field, he began his career as a senior systems engineer of GSOC at General Dynamics Corporation and progressed into becoming a senior sales engineer of SOCOM – at L3Harris Technologies Inc. and a senior engineer of SOCOM at Persistent Systems LLC. In addition to his role at Maxar, Mr. Garay has continued to support IBM as a business development leader since 2023.
Drawing from his military experience, Mr. Garay was a Special Forces senior communications operator 18E in the U.S. Army from 2010 to 2016 and a Special Forces instructor between 2016 and 2019. His military background has shaped his drive and ambition and taught him the significance of hard work and the ability to focus on immediate goals to achieve success. Furthermore, Mr. Garay completed business administration and management coursework from Southern New Hampshire University, significantly contributing to his professional success.
In honor of his military background, Mr. Garay was decorated with a Bronze Star Medal and an Army Commendation Medal from the U.S. Army in 2016. He also received recognition for his civilian success with Top Sales Awards every year between 2019 and 2021. However, Mr. Garay’s most significant achievement was completing the rigorous and challenging Special Forces qualification course, an intense program that spanned about two years. As he prepares for future success and challenges, he aims to maintain and strengthen his current customer relationships and deliver operational excellence to contribute to the overall safety and well-being of troops.
