In advising aspiring professionals, Mr. Turner shares valuable insights from his experiences in both the military and technology fields. For those entering the military, he recommends setting aside preconceived notions and following orders closely in the initial years. This approach, he explains, eases the transition from a civilian mindset to a military one. Once that transition is complete, if you find yourself in a role you don’t enjoy, he encourages speaking to the right people to pursue a job that aligns better with your interests. In the tech field, he underscores the importance of staying ahead of technological advancements, saying, “Technology is the future. If you’re doing a job that a robot can do, you will be replaced, so you must evolve,” emphasizing the need for continual learning and adaptability to maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly advancing tech landscape.
