Cindy A. Villavaso, Lt. (Ret.), Member of Technical Resources Committee at Impact100 Global Veterans, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in veteran care.

Harboring a desire to become part of a larger purpose outside of the confines of her small town, Ms. Villavaso was drawn to her field by her desire to enroll in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) during high school, despite the objections of her parents. She subsequently pursued higher education in criminal justice while garnering practical work experience. Though she dealt with uncertainty regarding committing to a long-term career in the military, Ms. Villavaso ultimately enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1986, beginning at the rank of E-1.

After showcasing an exceptional performance and encountering several supportive mentors, Ms. Villavaso found much success during her 20-year tenure in the U.S. Navy, eventually advancing to the rank of E-7. Proudly chartering her own course within the military, she later applied for limited duty officer commission in the officer corps. In 2006, Ms. Villavaso retired from the U.S. Navy, concluding her distinguished service at the rank of lieutenant.

As a testament to her stellar military efforts, Ms. Villavaso was presented with multiple Navy Commendation Medals as well as a Good Conduct Medal and an Expeditionary War Medal for her participation in Operation: Enduring Freedom. Among her many professional accomplishments, she most fondly recalls being selected among the pioneering female personnel granted access to the USS John F. Kennedy, for which she obtained the rank of chief, an achievement so historically unprecedented that her certificate retained male pronouns. Currently, Ms. Villavaso takes great pride in connecting and collaborating with fellow veteran women to effect substantive change in support of less-recognized veteran-focused organizations.

Following her military retirement, Ms. Villavaso volunteered at a school in Texas for a decade before being introduced to Impact100 Global Veterans through a friend. Since 2022, she has excelled as a marketing support specialist and a member of the Technical Resources Committee for Impact100 Global Veterans. In the coming years, Ms. Villavaso hopes to remain committed to enhancing the aforementioned organization to its fullest potential, including raising a minimum of $100,000 to support its mission.
