Lt. Col. Robert Black, senior associate of operations at AIS LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the securities industry.
With over six decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Black has cultivated a career of excellence in military service and public security. After operating as a midshipman for the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963, he honorably served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963 to 1969, during which time he specialized in various roles, most notably as a scouts and snipers officer for the first battalion of the First Marines in 1967. After exiting from his service for an extended period, Mr. Black held a number of leadership roles with various organizations, including the Young Presidents Organization, The Ranger Corporation and SUNY Maritime College. Furthermore, he founded Robert Black Consulting in 1989, where he currently maintains his positions as the owner and president. Mr. Black returned to military service with the U.S. Marine Corps between 2007 and 2015, during which time he achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel.
While he is now properly retired from military service, Mr. Black continues to serve in various roles aimed at improving public safety, cybersecurity, and maritime, facility and business security. He has primarily excelled as a senior associate of operations at AIS LLC since 2013. Additionally, has been a parliamentarian and board member of the Navy League of the New York City Council since 1990. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Black also pursued a formal education, ultimately achieving both a Master of Arts in political science and a Master of Philosophy in international relations at Columbia University in 1976. Well-regarded for his accomplishments in the field, he has been honored with several accolades over the course of his career, including the Department of the Navy Award of Merit for Group Achievement in 2009 and a New York State Meritorious Service Medal in 2009. Mr. Black is also particularly proud to have earned a Silver Star Medal for gallantry in action.
