Daniel B. “Jake” Perry, national veterans service officer at the Department of Ohio Marine Corps League, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of veteran services.
With several decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Perry has cultivated a career of excellence in military service. Focusing on veterans’ services, he has operated as a national veterans service officer for the Department of Ohio Marine Corps League since 2019. In this role, he primarily assists veterans in receiving benefits and other entitlements following their service. Mr. Perry previously served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for nearly two years as a private first class.
Prior to dedicating himself to veterans’ services, Mr. Perry worked extensively as a field engineer with IBM for over 20 years and with FedEx for an additional 20 years. He also pursued a formal education, earning an associate’s degree in electronics at Columbus Technical Institute in 1983. Outside of his primary vocation, he also remains active as a civic-minded citizen, regularly volunteering with various charity drives and with the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
Mr. Perry was inspired to join the Department of Ohio Marine Corps League by his brothers, who both worked with the National Marine Corps League. They both held a keen interest in veterans’ affairs and services, and they subsequently instilled in him a sincere interest in caring for fellow military veterans. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Perry was honored with a Silver Star Award from the Department of Ohio Marine Corps League. Additionally, he was named Field Engineer of the Year by IBM in 1993.
Accounting for his achievements, Mr. Perry largely attributes his success to his upbringing, having been taught to establish a strong work ethic and remain responsible in all of his endeavors. In light of his fulfilling career, he is most notably proud to be able to serve and support his fellow veterans and their families. Looking to the future, Mr. Perry hopes to continue working with the Marine Corps League and entice younger military service members to join the organization as well.
