Roseanne Prophet, Culinary Arts NCO at Delaware Army National Guard, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in culinary administration.
Ms. Prophet has provided superior service for over two decades as a supply technician, budget technician and food program manager beginning in 2002 with the Delaware United States Army National Guard, responsible for training all the food service personnel as well as food safety, equipment training for food service equipment, food service inspection of dining rooms and kitchen equipment, paperwork, food inventory.
Ms. Prophet parlayed skills she had acquired as early as her high school years, when she earned a diploma in culinary arts and related services from Delcastle Technical High School in 1993. She later obtained an Associate of Science in food service management from Delaware Technical Community College in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wilmington University in 2017.
Ms. Prophet retired from the Army National Guard in 2015 as the highest-ranking Culinary Arts Non-Commissioned Officer and the first such in Delaware. In addition, she excelled as the first female platoon Sergeant in the 153rd MP Company. For her service, she has been honored with Army Commendation and Army Achievement medals. Ms. Prophet’s professional organizations include the American Culinary Federation.
According to Ms. Prophet’s grandparents and her mother, ever since she was 5 or 6 years old, she would always say that she would go to the Army. Of all the grandchildren, she was the only one who followed through with what she said she wanted to do. As a career highlight, Ms. Prophet mentions helping her unit in regional competitions in 2004 in which units compete in a field environment as if they were going to war and they cook in a mobile kitchen trailer. She helped the Delaware unit win for the region and state.
In the coming years, Ms. Prophet and her husband Frank are hoping to start a food truck business. Already, they volunteer to help their neighbors with their yards, cut the grass and clean any foliage in their gutters. They are also planning to enjoy some traveling.
