George H. Barrett, Retired Chief Master Sergeant E-9 at the United States Air Force, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Growing up, Mr. Barrett was an orphan. Following the end of World War II, he went to live with his sister in Arizona, where he found a sense of family and, consequently, many brothers who would serve as role models. Almost all of his brothers had served in World War II, which inspired Mr. Barrett to join the military. After completing coursework at the University of Texas at Austin, he enlisted with the United States Air Force. Serving 31 years of active duty, Mr. Barrett excelled as a command sergeant. Once he retired from active duty, he worked for 24 years as a teacher in the Air Force. Later, in 2004, he earned a Bachelor of Science in workforce management from Trinity University, which was followed by a Master’s degree in Christian counseling from Liberty University in 2011.
In 1994, Mr. Barrett became the Mayor Pro Tem for the city of Kennedale, Texas. He remained in that role until 2007, alongside his experience as an aerospace science instructor at Arlington High School. A member of the Military Training Instructors Association, Mr. Barrett earned the Distinguished Service Medal from the Governor of the State of Texas in 2004. He additionally holds a Meritorious Service Medal and the Bronze Star from the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Mr. Barrett enjoys reading and going to church.
