Robert B. Middleton II, CDR, National Commandant at Montford Point Marines America, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

At the age of five, Mr. Middleton saw a United States Marine walking down his street. He was inspired by the uniform and its message, and it was then that he decided he wanted to serve his country. Following his high school graduation, Mr. Middleton enlisted with the United States Marines. From 1967 until 1970, he served on Operation Dewey Cannon in Vietnam. From 1970 until 1972, he served as a commission officer with the United States Marine Reserves. Later, after retiring from military service, he excelled as a business consultant with a private practice. Since 2014, Mr. Middleton has been the national commandant at the Montford Point Marines of America.

As a testament to his success, Mr. Middleton has been abundantly awarded. In 2012, he received the Congressional Gold Medal from former President Barack Obama. Earlier, Mr. Middleton earned the Republic of the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Medal, among others. Reflecting on his success, Mr. Middleton feels that he owes his life, as well as his accomplishments, to the grace of God. His motto is, “Service is the price you pay for the space you occupy.”
