Mr. Tolbert has established a distinguished career in the U.S. Army, demonstrating unwavering commitment and expertise across a range of critical roles. Since 2013, he has served as a brigade staff non-commissioned officer, where he has been responsible for overseeing operations and providing leadership within the brigade. Mr. Tolbert’s tenure in this position reflects his advanced knowledge in military intelligence and operational readiness.

From 2011 to 2012, Mr. Tolbert held the role of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear staff non-commissioned officer, where he managed hazardous materials and ensured the safety and preparedness of his unit, safeguarding personnel from chemical threats. In 2011, he was appointed to chief intelligence sergeant, solidifying his reputation as an expert in military intelligence.

Among other notable roles that date back to 1990, Mr. Tolbert acted as a team leader for a chemical detachment in a special forces unit, where he led specialized teams in high-stakes environments. He also served as a brigade chemical non-commissioned officer and platoon sergeant, and was an assistant operations sergeant, supporting battalion-level planning and execution.

A significant highlight of Mr. Tolbert’s career was his service as a drill sergeant and instructor from 1999 to 2002 at Fort Benning, Georgia. He is particularly proud of this period, having trained recruits and seen them transform into disciplined soldiers. This process left a lasting impact on both the recruits and their families. Earlier roles included serving as squad leader for the 63rd Chemical Company, chemical operation specialist, decontamination specialist and ordnance/ammunition specialist. Each position contributed to Mr. Tolbert’s comprehensive understanding of military operations and leadership.

Throughout his military service, Mr. Tolbert achieved several additional skill identifiers and special qualification identifiers that underscore his versatility. As a technical escorting specialist, he assessed and transported hazardous materials related to weapons of mass destruction. As a master fitness trainer, he promoted physical readiness within his units. Mr. Tolbert’s air assault training also enabled rapid deployment into combat zones via helicopter insertion. Moreover, he is recognized as a parachutist, capable of conducting airborne operations.

Mr. Tolbert’s academic background included college coursework in photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah. He also completed studies at Troy State University, Central Texas College, the City College of Chicago and North Central Institute. This diverse educational foundation has supported his professional development by equipping him with creative problem-solving skills and technical knowledge applicable both within and beyond military contexts.

Mr. Tolbert’s expertise in military intelligence has been widely acknowledged throughout his career. Notably, he is an alumnus of the Wounded Warrior program, demonstrating his commitment to supporting fellow service members.

Mr. Tolbert attributes his success to his faith, which has guided him through challenges and empowered him to overcome adversity throughout his career. His exemplary service has been recognized with numerous honors, including a Bronze Star Medal for distinguished service during deployment in Afghanistan, two Meritorious Service Medals, five U.S. Army Commendation Medals, nine U.S. Army Achievement Medals, and several certificates acknowledging his achievements. Eager for future opportunities, Mr. Tolbert plans to engage in public speaking as part of his ongoing commitment to leadership and mentorship within the community.
