Highly educated, Mr. Meelarp holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and sports studies from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School. Recruited to join the military in high school, he chose college instead. However, he frequently saw fliers and recruiters on campus and ultimately decided to enlist.
To remain abreast in the field, Mr. Meelarp is a member of the Foreign Areas Officers Association. During his active service in the military, he successfully led a task force in Iraq, comprising a unit of volunteers from various backgrounds with the mission of assisting in training Iraqi police and security forces within the region. Mr. Meelarp was later recognized for his contributions with a Marine Corps Association Unit Award in 2022 and was decorated with a Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Achievement Medal and several Campaign Medals. Mr. Meelarp attributes his success to his determination to find solutions and accomplish tasks regardless of the circumstances. He remains eager to continue imparting his wisdom to new cadets, allowing them to reach their full potential.
