With many years of experience to his credit, Mr. Washington has excelled as a physician recruiter and provider recruiter supervisor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since 2023. Prior to these positions, he was active as a recruiting and marketing manager with Motir Services Inc. from 2018 to 2019 and a senior physician recruiter with University of Maryland Medical Systems from 2019 to 2022. He previously worked as a health professions recruiter with the U.S. Air Force between 2012 and 2015 and the U.S. Air Force Reserve between 2015 and 2018. Mr. Washington began his career with 18 years in law enforcement and more than 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, advancing to the rank of master sergeant before his retirement from the military.
Mr. Washington attributes his success to the invaluable experiences he gained during his extensive military career, which began at the age of 18 and entailed overseas deployments and living in diverse locations such as Atlanta, New York, and North Dakota. Among his most significant achievements, he is proud of establishing three thriving Maggie Moo’s ice cream franchises in the Washington, D.C. area. In light of his impressive undertakings as a Maggie Moo’s franchisee, he was featured in “Black Wealth Initiative” by Black Enterprise in 2007. He was subsequently recognized as the Top Health Professions Recruiter of the Year by FY in 2018. Looking toward the future, Mr. Washington plans to join the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment while planning for his forthcoming retirement from his civilian career.
