Katherine E. Carter-Josey, a veteran of the U.S. Army, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of military service.
Long dedicated to serving by the tenets of her personal motto, “success is created, not given,” Ms. Carter-Josey served on behalf of her country as a member for the U.S. Army from 1995 until her departure from military service in 2021. Over the course of her service in this capacity, during which time she was deployed to Iraq, rose to become a senior noncommissioned officer and drill sergeant, and later functioned as a human resource specialist while in the reserve, she was largely responsible for handling administrative tasks and managing a budget of $6.4 million. For her accomplishments while in service to the United States, Ms. Carter-Josey was bestowed with such accolades as an Iraq Campaign Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, and a Meritorious Service Medal.
Throughout her service to the military, Ms. Carter-Josey also found success as a market data specialist on behalf of NYSE Euronext – which was acquired by the IntercontinentalExchange Group in 2013 – from 1998 until her retirement in 2020. In support of her career, she maintained her affiliation with such organizations as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and the National Notary Association. Ms. Carter-Josey largely credits her success to her deep sense of determination, as well as her independent streak and ability to take responsibility for every challenge she has ever faced. Looking toward the future, she hopes to complete her master’s degree in finance and become involved in the field of wealth management, ultimately aspiring to establish a financial literacy foundation and help others build generational prosperity.
