From 1987 to 2014, he garnered experience as the president, chief executive officer and co-founder of the Business Forum of Atlanta Inc. From 1964 to 1984, Mr. Butler served as a Human Resources Officer in the United States Army before being honorably discharged. He is a Chartered Federal Benefits Counselor and a life member of the United States Army Warrant Officers Association. From 1971 to 2013, Mr. Butler was the assistant vice president of veterans’ affairs with the United States Army Warrant Officers Association. He was recognized for his military service with a Distinguished Member of the Regiment award.
Mr. Butler prepared for his career at Los Angeles City College, completing coursework in business administration in management from 1961 to 1962. From 1962 to 1964, he completed coursework in business administration and management at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1980, he graduated from the American Technological University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and in 1982, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
