With more than 35 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Silva has excelled as a quality assurance inspector for the 143rd Airlift Wing of the Rhode Island Air National Guard since 2009. He has additionally contributed to the aforementioned Airlift Wing as an aerospace ground equipment technician, a position he previously held at an Air Force base as part of the Massachusetts National Guard. Having been involved with the Atlantic Coast Patrol in New York and Washington, D.C. in 2001, he was likewise active in 45K military occupational specialty in tank, artillery and small arms in the U.S. Army in 1994. Mr. Silva began his military career in Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1986.
In support of his professional ambitions, Mr. Silva obtained an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force, part of Air University. He was later celebrated for his extensive military tenure with a number of Achievement Medals as well as the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Attributing his success to his discipline, morality, professionalism and dedication, he had harbored a lifelong interest in joining the U.S. military, which provided him with the opportunity to explore different opportunities throughout multiple branches. He fondly recalls being selected to train the Indian Air Force over the course of three weeks in 2011. Looking toward the future, Mr. Silva hopes to complete his college education and eventually further support his community upon his impending retirement.
