James Tanner, Colonel at United States Air Force, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in service to his country.
Coming from a military family in which his father fought in World War II and his grandfather participated in the Spanish-American War, joining the military seemed to be a natural fit for Mr. Tanner. He provided superior service in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1982, attaining the rank of colonel, and thereafter excelled as director of operations in the office of personnel management of the State of Oklahoma.
Mr. Tanner had originally obtained a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 1955 from the University of Wichita, now known as Wichita State University, and later continued his education with a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama 1975. During his military career, Mr. Tanner served in Vietnam and received the Legion of Merit, two Distinguished Flying Crosses and a Bronze Star to honor his accomplishments.
Mr. Tanner attributes his professional success to his hard work. In addition, he is proud to have been married to his wife, Norma, for nearly 70 years, as well as to have raised three successful sons. Professionally, Mr. Tanner maintains his affiliation with Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
