Antonio T. Martinez Luengo, Physician Adjudicator for the U.S. Army, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in military service.
Dr. Martinez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in 1978 and subsequently attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine to earn a medical degree in 1981. He performed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Allentown General Hospital, part of the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. from 1981 to 1985. He was a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1998 to 2022 and is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. He also completed a flight surgeon course as a servicemember with the U.S. Air Force.
From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Martinez was active as a physician adjudicator for the U.S. Army Physical Evaluation Board at the Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam, Texas. Previously, he worked as the assistant and interim deputy director of clinical services for Ireland Army Community Hospital at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He held several other positions at multiple military bases and worked all over the U.S. and Puerto Rico during his career. Since 2022, Dr. Martinez has excelled as a staff gynecologist with the El Paso Veteran Administration Healthcare Facility.
Dr. Martinez is a decorated servicemember who has received several prestigious military and civilian honors, including a Kentucky Colonel Award, an Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and an Order of the Military Medical Merit Award. He was a flight surgeon for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for 13 years and served with the USAF for 18 years and with the U.S. Army for 17 years. He plans to continue working with the U.S. Department of Defense and eventually retire, though he will continue being active in community service.
