Ed Jarvis, Administrator and Airport Manager for the Industrial Development Authority, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in aviation.

With an unwavering commitment to his country, Mr. Jarvis knew from a young age that he desired to join the United States Air Force. Over the course of his military career, he served as an air traffic controller, holding the position for nearly 22 years. Upon completion of his service, he found notable success with the Federal Aviation Administration for 20 years. Thereafter, he was presented with an opportunity to supervise all operations of the Industrial Development Authority general aviation airport. As an IDA administrator, he is proud to contribute to economic development by setting up businesses, selling and giving away land and handing out tax credits.

Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Jarvis is most proud to have brought in about $6 million in federal and state funding to the airport. Moreover, he is credited with setting up a capital improvement plan to implement about $22 million worth of infrastructure for the airport’s expansion. For his contributions to the U.S. Air Force, he is honored to have been presented with the Civilian Foreign Service Award from the United States Department of Transportation. He attributes his success to his parents, who instilled in him a stellar work ethic. Looking toward the future, his goal is to keep the airport on its current trajectory for success before considering retiring in five years.
