Suresia L. Goodwin, USAF, Ret., Information Assurance Analyst at Department of the Air Force, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in information technology.
A retired United States Air Force service member with more than 20 years of active duty experience, Ms. Goodwin is renowned for her information technology background. Since 2018, she has pivoted her illustrious skills to serve as an information assurance analyst for the Department of the Air Force on the Hickam Air Base in Hawaii. In addition, she has served as a senior associate at LegalShield since 2020, where she provides affordable, prepaid legal and identity theft services for law firms, individuals, families and small businesses.
Ms. Goodwin commenced her U.S. Air Force career as a COMSEC responsible officer at Kadena Air Base in Japan in 2002. She then moved to the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where she was a title Intel systems network administrator from 2004 to 2006 and title program manager from 2006 to 2009. Upon her return to the U.S., she was an information technology manager at Eglin Air Base in Florida from 2009 to 2012. Ms. Goodwin spent the next year as a flight superintendent at Osan Air Base in Korea. Settling the final years of her Air Force career in Hawaii, she excelled as a data center manager at Hickman Field from 2013 to 2015, as well as a contract operations manager in 2015 and 2016. Joining Adams Communications Engineering Technologies, she was a senior information assurance analyst in 2016 and 2017.
The recipient of two Meritorious Service Medals, Ms. Goodwin was also named Volunteer of the Quarter for the Second Quarter in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Likewise, she received an Excellent Rating in 2015 and 2016 from the Department of Defense. Ms. Goodwin attributes her success to her various positions and posts, as these opportunities offered her the chance to expand her skills and learn knowledge she would not have elsewhere. Her advice to aspiring military professionals is to always be on top of your game and seek out to improve your abilities. Most importantly, she emphasizes service before self, excellence in all you do and integrity.
A student at Troy University from 1999 to 2001, Ms. Goodwin received an Associate of Science in information technology from the Community College of the Air Force in 2003. She went on to study information technology at Ashford University and is currently in pursuit of obtaining a Bachelor of Science in computer networks with cybersecurity at the University of Maryland University Global College. Presently, she maintains membership with AFCEA International and Kappa Psi Fi. In five years’ time, Ms. Goodwin hopes to start a family, as well as eventually retire from her government role and become a full-time entrepreneur.
