Thomas Craig Williams, Post Commander at Washington Suburban Commission, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the United States Navy.
Growing up, Mr. Williams witnessed most of his family members matriculate through the United States Navy. Continuing the family legacy, he has dedicated his time as an active member of the U.S. Navy for more than 25 years. In the past, Mr. Williams contributed as the post commander for the Department of Maryland Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. In this role, his responsibilities included developing a wide range of initiatives that aim to better the lives of veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as their families. In a career filled with several highlights, Mr. Williams is most proud of all that he has done with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as becoming an All American State Commander, Post Commander and Triple Crown through the Washington Suburban Commission.
Throughout the course of his illustrious career, Mr. Williams and his wife have taken part in various community measures focusing on veterans’ health, veterans’ families during the holiday season and caregiver support. In light of his military achievements, he has been recognized with an Overseas Service Medal, a Military Service Medal, a Navy Expeditionary Medal and a Blue Conduct Medal. In the coming years, Mr. Williams hopes to establish a homeless shelter for his local region. Additionally, he would like to continue working with veterans on the ground, liaising with other veterans’ affairs organizations and inspiring the youth in his community.
