Curtis Boddy, Jr., Director of Purchasing and Contracting at Mississippi Military Department, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the U.S. Army.
A retired Army Sergeant Major, Mr. Boddy specialized in utilities including logistics, personnel, operational, tactical and Intel. In his military career, he chose to relocate every three to five years in order to take on a new, advanced role. Starting out in field artillery, he moved to infantry as a Bradley Commander and then to aviation as an intelligence analyst for the 185th Aviation Brigade. After being sent to receive schooling, Mr. Boddy excelled as the state airlift coordinator for Mississippi before transitioning to an opportunity devoted to helicopters. Notably, he holds two Bronze Stars for combat. Outside of his military prowess, Mr. Boddy was a resource manager of facility maintenance for the Department for the State from 2013 to 2018 and has been involved in investment properties and real estate since 2007. Additionally, Mr. Boddy has served as director of purchasing and contracting for the Mississippi Military Department since 2019.
State-certified in supervision and management personnel, Mr. Boddy attributes his success to the Lord’s blessings and good mentors. He has led his career by the advice his father gave him; in life, you are only limited if you say so, if the mindset can see it and you use your diligence you can achieve it. Using these words of wisdom, Mr. Boddy is a deacon of Colonial Heights Baptist Church since 2019, as well as a board member of Community Business Strategies. He is a past board secretary for SCORE and Mentoring Entrepreneurs. In the 1980s, Mr. Boddy received an Associate degree from Hines Community College, as well as a license as an aircraft mechanic from an air framing power plant. He is also backed by studies in business administration from Brampton University. In five years’ time, he aims to be an investor in people, real estate and all types of businesses and companies in order to help them grow.
