Frank R. Herbert, Retired Captain at U.S. Naval Reserve (USNR), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in military service.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Herbert immediately set out to join the United States Navy. During his years serving in the military, he participated in a number of prominent moments. For a brief time in 1970, he served as the special assistant attorney general in New Mexico. Once he joined the U.S. Navy Reserve, Mr. Herbert was part of a team on a destroyer after the Berlin Wall was recalled, which later provided him with a foundation off which to join the nuclear task group. Throughout his career, he served eight commands, two of which were ships and one being a destroyer squadron.

As a testament to Mr. Herbert’s military success, he was awarded the Navy-Marine Core Medal for his rescue of two men swept overboard because of a violent storm in the Sea of Japan. Further, he received a letter of commendation for his duties performed in several amphibious raids in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, Mr. Herbert embarked on a career in real estate. Holding a California Real Estate Brokers License, he specialized in commercial property management. He additionally holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the George Washington University Law School. Mr. Herbert is certified to practice law in New Mexico, as well as by the United States Court of Military Appeals and the United States District Court.

The former commodore of the Navy Yacht Club, Mr. Herbert previously served as the president of the Beverly Hills Council Navy League and the Long Beach Commanderie of Naval Order. Today, some of his favorite hobbies include whale watching and sailing, as his love for the ocean has never dwindled. Moreover, Mr. Herbert is a certified scuba diver. As an amateur diver, he credits his success in the sport to never giving up until he was successful. Looking toward the future, he is excited to continue spending time with his family. Mr. Herbert and his wife, Luanna, share three children, several of whom have blessed them with grandchildren.
