LT/COL Clarence “Chuck” Helton, Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Air Force, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in service and human resources.
Having been raised in an orphanage from an early age, Mr. Helton enlisted in the military immediately following his high school graduation. Serving for 30 years with the U.S. Air Force, he demonstrated excellence on each mission for which he participated. Throughout his time in the military, Mr. Helton pursued an education at night. In 1969, he earned a Bachelor of Science in personnel management and industrial relations from the American International College. Later, in 1976, he returned to school and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
During his time in the military, Mr. Helton demonstrated consistent success. After six years, he was selected to become a major, which was three years earlier than expected for individuals in the Air Force. As a testament to his success, he earned five Meritorious Service Medals, an Air Force Commendation Medal, an Air Medal for combat support missions during the Vietnam War and a Bronze Star Medal. Once he was promoted to become a Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Helton chose to retire from the military and commence a new career.
Having spent 15 years in human resources, he then proceeded to transition to working as a real estate broker. He and his wife teamed up to form their own company and then retired after 25 years of excellent service. Reflecting on his success, he credits a mentor who encouraged him to pursue formal education for his future choices and endeavors. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and investing in the stock market. Looking toward the future, Mr. Helton hopes to continue traveling once the travel limitations from COVID-19 are lifted.
