Title: Chairman, Director
Company: Museum of Military History
Location: Kissimmee, Florida, United States
Donald Smith, Chairman and Director at the Museum of Military History, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the United States Navy.
In 1959, Mr. Smith was unsure of what career to pursue. It was then that he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was excited to navigate this path, as he had grown up around the Navy and loved being out on the ocean.
As his deployments brought him around the world, he found that his favorite part of Navy life was seeing the different ways that people lived. Mr. Smith excelled in the Navy until 1990, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer IV. However, he never forgot about his experiences and the many wonderful people he met.
These memories are what inspired Mr. Smith to begin working for the Museum of Military History. He initially got involved as the treasurer, then became vice president, and finally began serving as the chairman of the board in 2004. He remains in that role today. Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Smith is a member of the Fleet Reserve, the Disabled Veterans of America, and the Paternal Order of the Eagles. In the future, he looks forward to continuing to enjoy his time at the museum and sharing his Navy experiences with others.
