Emanuel Sylvester Lawbaugh IV, Emeritus National Judge Advocate, Retired Lawyer, and Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Military for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

Mr. Lawbaugh initially earned a Bachelor of Science from Regis College in 1957, followed by a Master of Education from the University of Missouri in 1962. Later, in 1972, he obtained a Doctor of Education from the University of Mississippi. Mr. Lawbaugh proceeded to further his education again in pursuit of becoming a lawyer in 1983, graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Arkansas in 1983. In recognition of his service, Mr. Lawbaugh has earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star with a V, a Vietnam Honor Medal, a Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Vietnam Cross Of Gallantry and is the recipient of the Service Award from the American Red Cross in 1975 and 1976, was inducted into the Arkansas Military Veterans’ Hall Of Fame in 2013, and the Military Order Of The Purple Heart Commanders Award For Excellence in 2018.

While he has enjoyed his time as a lawyer, educator, and National Judge Advocate, Mr. Lawbaugh is most proud of serving in the United States Marine Corps, especially of his service during the Vietnam War. In 1963, he was commissioned as a captain for the United States Marine Corps. By 1974, he had advanced through the grades to lieutenant colonel. He proceeded to accept such esteemed positions as a plans officer of the Marine Corps Education Center in Quantico, VA, and a commanding officer of the Marine Wing Communication Squadron in Okinawa, Japan. Prior to his retirement in 1981, Mr. Lawbaugh excelled as the Marine Corps director at the Defense Electronic Analysis Center in Annapolis, MD. Though he has since retired from the military, he is proud to remain active with his title of Emeritus National Judge Advocate, which was presented to him by the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Currently, he is primarily concerned with his family endeavors, as he always looks forward to spending the future with those to whom he is closest. As a testament to his success, Mr. Lawbaugh is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and the 9th edition of Who’s Who in American Law.
